Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden visited North Sailing and Restaurant Gamli Baukur earlier today along with her husband Prince Daniel, the President of Iceland, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and the First Lady, Dorrit Moussaieff. The Crown Princess is in Iceland for two days on an official visit and visiting North Sailing and Gamli Baukur was part of her official agenda.

Sjónvarpsstöðin N4 kom í heimsókn til Norðursiglingar fyrr í aprílmánuði og tók skemmtilegt viðtal við Steinunni Sigvaldadóttur, framkvæmdastjóra Norðursiglingar og Ragnar Hermannsson, yfirmann verklegra framkvæmda og viðhalds. Umræðuefnið var nýja þjónustumiðstöð fyrirtækisins, en unnið er hörðum höndum að byggingu hennar þessa dagana, og gamlan eikarbát sem fær nýtt hlutverk innan veggja nýju þjónustumiðstöðvarinnar.

Sail Húsavík begins today and the boats have been arriving a few days now. Tonight some more arrived including some sailboats from the Faroe Islands.

The annual town festival, Mærudagar, starts this Thursday the 22nd of July. In Húsavík, the word "mæra," the first half of the local festivals name, means sweets or candy. Thus, the festival might be called "Candy days" in English.
